World Times Todays: Rightmove says property asking prices are rising for the second month in a row – as buyers get back into the game

WorldTimeTodays latest article covers Rightmoves latest property announcement about the house price index featuring our very own mortgage expert Michelle!

Michelle was asked by Rightmove to offer her advice and expertise within the property market on her recent thoughts on houses prices in 2024.

The article starts with:

“According to the latest data from Rightmove, average asking prices rose 0.9 per cent to £362,839 this month.

The data, which examines the prices of newly listed homes, reported a 1.3 percent increase in January. This means the typical asking price has risen by almost £8,000 since December.”

Michelle comments:

“There was renewed optimism and positive sentiment at the start of this year on the back of another interest rate break and January inflation held at 4 per cent.”

“Optimism breeds trust, and trust leads to more sellers and buyers entering the market.”
