Back Yourself First: Michelle Niziol at Gardner Leader’s International Women’s Day Event

Michelle  took to the stage at Gardner Leader’s International Women’s Day event with a message that cut through the noise:

Back yourself first. Then back each other.

Speaking to a room full of business owners, professionals and leaders, Michelle brought her trademark straight-talking style to a conversation that was anything but surface-level. This wasn’t about polished soundbites or safe opinions. It was about honesty, confidence, and what it really takes to move forward in business and life.

The theme of the day centred around the idea of the “Give to Gain” – a collective energy created when women show up, speak openly, and support each other without competition or pretence – every woman benefits. It’s something Michelle is passionate about, and something she believes is essential if more women are to build sustainable success on their own terms.

Alongside powerful discussion and shared experiences, the event also supported Homeless Oxfordshire, bringing a clear sense of purpose and impact beyond the room itself.

For Michelle, events like this are about more than just speaking. They’re about being part of the wider conversation – challenging perspectives, raising standards, and creating space for more honest dialogue around business, money and ambition.

And if there was one takeaway?

Start with backing yourself. Everything else follows.
