How can we help you?
Independent. Local. Knowledgeable
IMS has been helping people find homes across Oxford and beyond for almost 20 years. As an independent company, we’re not tied to any lenders or targets – our advice is based on what’s right for you.
For us, it’s always been people first. From your first chat with us through to getting the keys, you’ll deal with the same expert team who truly care about helping you. Many clients come back to us or recommend us, and that comes down to trust and being straightforward from the start. Because our mortgage, lettings and insurance teams all work together, everything is joined up properly. No running around, no unnecessary hassle, just a team that’s got you covered from start to finish.
-
Step one
Understanding your needs
We start with a consultation and chat through what you're looking for, your budget, affordability and timeline. If you need a mortgage, we'll get that lined up early so you have an agreement in principle before you start viewing.
-
Step fwo
Start the search
We match you with properties that meet your requirements. You'll see opportunities early and get a clear steer on what's worth pursuing and what isn't.
-
Step fhree
Viewings
We arrange and attend viewings with you, chatting through each property as we go. We understand that people often get a 'feel' for a property – our expertise identifies what that is to enhance the search.
-
Step four
Make your offer
When you're ready, we guide you on the right offer and handle negotiations for you, helping you secure the property at the right price, on the right terms.
-
Step five
Keep things moving
Once agreed, we stay close to the process – working with solicitors, brokers and agents to keep things moving so delays don't build.
-
Step six
Exchange contracts
This is where it becomes legally secure. Contracts are signed and dates are set. We make sure everything is in place and you know exactly what you are signing and when completion will happen.
-
Step seven
Get the keys
Completion happens, funds transfer and the keys are yours. It's a big moment. We guide you through the final steps so everything runs smoothly and you can enjoy it.
-
After completion
Protection and insurance
Once you're in, it's about looking after what you've bought. From insurance through to planning your next move, our team has you covered for the long term.
Areas we cover in Oxford
Oxford is really a collection of very different neighbourhoods – here's where our local knowledge runs deepest, inside the city itself.
Oxford’s centre is one of the most recognisable cityscapes in the world, built around the university’s colleges, and it remains a genuine place to live as well as visit – with everything from period conversions to new city-centre apartments.
North Oxford and Jericho are where the city’s academic and creative character really shows – leafy Victorian streets, a canalside village feel, and some of Oxford’s most sought-after family homes.
East Oxford is the city’s most diverse and energetic quarter, anchored by the Cowley Road’s independent restaurants and bars, with quieter, historic Iffley Village just a short walk from the river.
East of the city centre, Headington and Marston combine strong employment on the doorstep with easy access into Oxford, making them popular with professionals working locally as well as commuters.
