First-time buyers
Buying your first home is a big moment. It marks the start of something new, not just another transaction.
It should feel exciting, not overwhelming.
Our team has worked with hundreds of first-time buyers across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and the Cotswolds, so we know where things can get confusing or slow down.
We will guide you through it, keep things clear, and make sure you go in feeling confident and prepared.
Start with your mortgage
The most useful thing you can do early on is speak to a mortgage adviser before you start viewing properly.
It gives you clarity. You will understand what you can borrow, what your monthly payments could look like, and what deposit you will need.
Our in-house mortgage team works across the whole market, not just a panel of lenders. With a bit of early planning, many first-time buyers find they can borrow more than they expected or structure things in a smarter way.
Government schemes
There are a number of schemes designed to help first-time buyers, including First Homes, shared ownership and mortgage guarantees. If you opened a Help to Buy ISA before November 2019, you can still claim your government bonus.
The landscape changes regularly, and knowing what you are eligible for can make a real difference to how you buy and how much you need upfront.
We keep across it all and will tell you what is actually relevant to you.
The process
Once you have found the right property, things move through offer, survey, mortgage application, searches, exchange and completion. Each stage has its own pace and pressures.
We stay alongside you through all of it, keeping things moving, explaining what is happening, and making sure you are not left chasing or waiting without answers.
Book a telephone appointment
We are looking forward to discussing your mortgage options. To make the most of our appointment, please have the following information to hand:
- Your income details
- Any outstanding debts (including monthly payments and outstanding balances)
This initial mortgage consultation is free of charge, and allows us to gather the information we need about your circumstances and mortgage requirements.
Once we have reviewed your details and supporting documentation, we will arrange the next stage of the process with one of our mortgage advisers, who will research the market and provide personalised mortgage recommendations. Should you decide to proceed with an application, our broker fees are typically:
- £699 – First Time Buyers, Home Movers and Remortgages
- £995 – Buy-to-Let, Semi-Commercial and Commercial Mortgages
We will call you at your scheduled appointment time from the following number:
