From one mortgage broker to seven businesses
Michelle Niziol started IMS after a personal encounter with the property industry's shortcomings – and a determination to do it differently.
At 18, Michelle bought her first home after her family nearly lost theirs. Frustrated by the disconnected, confusing experience of working with multiple agents, brokers, and solicitors – all pulling in different directions – she set out to build something better.
She became a mortgage broker, won Top UK Broker from Barclays Bank, and in 2008 opened IMS Property Group’s first office in Bicester. The goal was simple: provide every property service a client could need, under one roof, with one consistent standard of care.
Today, IMS comprises seven companies covering mortgage brokerage, estate agency, lettings, property management, refurbishment, development, and bespoke investment – all built on that original belief.
Proudly independent
IMS has grown significantly since that first mortgage desk in Bicester, but the way it operates has not changed. It is still family run, still independent, and still led by Michelle personally. The people you speak to are part of a team that Michelle has built, trained and works alongside, with her sister and Property Director, Lynsey, every day.
It means decisions get made by people who care about the outcome. It means when something needs sorting, it gets sorted. And it means the standard of service you receive on day one is the same standard you get two years into your tenancy or three months into your sale.

We have been providing bespoke solutions for all our clients’ property needs for nearly two decades. During this time, the company has grown from specialising in mortgages to catering for a whole range of property services, whether you are a landlord, prospective tenant, homebuyer or investor.

Initial consultations last around 30 minutes and can be in person at any of our six offices, by phone, or by video call – whichever suits you best.
Yes. IMS holds a full set of industry accreditations:

- Propertymark accredited for estate agency services
- Propertymark accredited for lettings
These aren’t optional memberships – they require ongoing training, professional indemnity insurance, and client money protection.
IMS has six offices: Bicester (our headquarters), Oxford, Aylesbury, Milton Keynes, High Wycombe, and London Fitzrovia. We cover the wider Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Northamptonshire areas, and can conduct consultations by phone or video anywhere in the UK.
For mortgage advice in particular, we work with clients across England and Wales – geography is no barrier to getting great advice.
